Measure the goods as one unit load

Measure the goods in the arrangement that will actually sit on the pallet. Include overhanging items, cartons, bags or equipment projections. State the required pallet length and width, and distinguish the height of the goods from the overall loaded height. If the footprint is still undecided, explain the packing pattern or provide a sketch.

Explain load and support conditions

Record the complete load weight and how it is distributed. Evenly packed cartons and equipment resting on a few feet create different support requirements. Specify floor storage, stacking, movement and racking separately. If racking is required, include the support positions and span.

For rackable plastic pallets, ask for the intended racking application to be assessed. A capacity stated for one support condition should not be assumed to apply to another.

Describe handling and reuse

Add quantity, delivery and timing

Give the total quantity and whether supply is needed in one batch or stages. Include the exact delivery address, receiving hours, access restrictions and unloading equipment. State the required date and identify which details remain flexible.

Send one complete brief

Bring together dimensions, quantity, goods, weight distribution, handling, storage conditions and delivery information. Add a photograph or sketch where it explains an unusual load. For export use, include the destination and buyer instructions so wood packaging treatment and marking can be discussed as part of the complete package.
